On the surface, this manual teaches foundational lab skills for pre-professional biotechnology, beginning with basic measurements (volume, weight, pH, light) and solution preparation, then progressing to common assays, introductory cell culture, and molecular biology techniques. However, it’s more than just a skills manual—it’s about developing a mindset that prioritizes reducing variability, and thus enhancing reproducibility at every step.
For instructors, we have also assembled instructor notes to complement the manual and offer additional ideas.
